Overview
It is constructed with 3/4" solid American red oak & has a gorgeous Tung Oil finish. It is 22.5" long, 12" wide, and 15" tall, weighing 32 pounds.
Big Tom features a 8.5" wide, 12" tall swift equipped with 120 tpi carding cloth standard and creates a batt 38" long. The Licker-in is equipped with 90 tpi carding cloth. It features not one, but two gear head motors that can be individually adjusted for speed, and they are both reversible. One motor runs the licker-in, the second motor runs the swift. This means you don't just have one or two carding ratios, you have infinite control of the feed to card ratio, from extremely slow to fast on either the licker-in or swift.
The power is transferred to both drums via a tooth belt pully and belt system that is as strong as the chain drive, but quiet and requires no maintenance.
Both axles run in sealed ball bearings for super smooth & maintenance free operation.
It comes with a brush attachment as standard equipment.
We offer an auxiliary drum assembly that can be changed by removing and re-installing the four swift adjusting screws. It is an option available in the following available cloth densities, 54, 72, 90, 120, 190 tpi. This means you can card any type of fiber with ONE drum carder.

The carders will accept voltages of 90v- 270V and 50 or 60 hz, but will require a plug adaptor to change the plug from the North American style to the European style electrical plug.
For those of you living off the grid - the carder will operate from 12v DC with a very slight modification and pull less than 100 watts at maximum speed.

As shown above, it consists of the swift drum with the cloth of your choice - 54, 72, 90, or 190 points per square inch - the axle, sealed axle bearings, adjustment slides, and pulley. It will fit any Fancy Kitty Big Tom drum carder. So if you have need of different carding cloth for different fiber types, this is your answer.
You no longer need to purchase two different drum carders for different fiber types, just purchase a secondary swift assembly with the cloth you require. Remove the four swift adjusting screws, lift the off the existing swift and replace it with the auxiliary swift, replace the four swift adjusting screws. Adjust the swift to the licker-in, and you are ready to card.
